There are many paths that lead someone to becoming a realtor. In my case, the path has had three forks. Having grown up in the region, being a lifelong river rat, boater, and lover of the 1000 islands, part of my journey has been floating slowly down the St. Lawrence River discovering all the secret spots and beautiful river hideaways. I love being able to share the idea of river living and the joys and challenges of living on the St Lawrence.
The second fork for me has been architecture. We are very fortunate in Gananoque to have not only the stunning natural beauty of the St. Lawrence, but also a town of architectural significance. A well designed space of any style can elevate and uplift, but I have a special passion for the heritage homes that make our town special. Like river living, owning an older home has some challenges, but can bring great joy. My wife and I live in, and love, a “second empire” home in town that is about 150 years old. I would be happy to share my knowledge of older homes in general, and specifically of the older homes in our beautiful town.
The final fork for me has been entrepreneurship. As for many realtors, Realty is a second career for me. For 20 years I was a restaurateur. I’ve built half a dozen successful food service businesses. My first foray into commercial real estate was successfully selling off my own businesses. This is a particularly tricky part of the real estate business, but as a person who is an entrepreneur to the core, I fully understand the specific needs of a commercial business owner and can bring my experience to bear.
I would be happy to help with any real estate needs large or small. In particular, if you are looking to transact in riverfront property, an older home, or commercial real estate, I’m confident I can provide the guidance you need for a smooth and stress free transaction.
